Story
I was fascinated by calligraphy from an early age, so that at the age of 6, I learned how to write the alphabet in a calligraphic style before learning how to write letters normally at school.
My interest in calligraphy didn’t stop and it continued until I decided to pursue it more professionally after completing my master’s degree in visual communication.
For more than 20 years, I have practiced nastaliq, broken nastaliq, Mohagheq and Kofich. I started calligraphy professionally in the summer of 2017 and I am still gaining experience and discovering this art to the best of my ability.
I love all styles of calligraphy because of their unique form and beauty. But I chose the Kufic language as my main focus because of its ability to transform into visually beautiful abstract forms.
In most of my paintings, I reach a general form by putting letters together. In fact, each letter is a form and a form, so that together they necessarily give the meaning of a word.
But I also have boards where the text and writing give meaning directly to the boards, along with the form and color used.
In most of my paintings you can see integrated compositions and the use of geometric motifs that incorporate letters (forms).
vision
My goal has been to achieve unity or association of different senses from the depth of shapes and angles with various compositions. I try to stay away from the classic compositions of scripts. I want to display letters as forms in minimal and abstract formats so that viewers see them as forms rather than letters and words.
I use various colors in my work.
In fact, I try to avoid repeating certain colors in my work.
Colors make me feel alive and I like to convey this feeling in my paintings.
Of course, you can find minimal and monochrome paintings or with less color variety in my works, which also have their own charm and sense.
